Ready to Write Your Natural Health Self-Help Book?

Do you love Burt’s Bees, Reishi tea, yoga, meditation, Zen wisdom and organic foods? Do you believe in the body’s innate wisdom, living in harmony with nature and treating the whole self, mind-body and spirit? I do too. That's why I'm a book coach who works with writers like you. How can I help?

Foundation First.
Writing a book is complicated. I like to compare it to a clock or a watch. All of the gears need to mesh for it to keep good time.
You need:
-
A solid idea, one that only you can write from your unique point-of-view based on a problem (pain point) that you know how to solve.
-
To know who your ideal reader is.
-
A method, plan or approach that helps a reader feel better, mentally, emotionally or physically or maybe all three often based on what you do as a profession.
-
A book and chapter structure so that this can happen and your reader is transformed in a meaningful way.
-
Create content that’s reader-focused and engaging and full of actionable information. It also needs to be clear, read well, flow within and between chapters and makes sense.
This is not easy.
But if you establish a foundation first and create a clear roadmap (Need help with this? Take a look at the Natural Health Self-Help Book Roadmap) you'll be able to write your natural health self-help book faster and more easily.
Planting deep roots frees you up to focus on your message, not the mess that comes when you try to DIY. You'll grow and blossom as a writer naturally. You'll have a roadmap and know exactly what you need to do which means writing and revising (Need help with this? Take a look at the Natural Health Self-Help Write & Revise Book Camp) becomes much easier too.
Are You Stuck at the the Start? Lost in the Middle? Struggling to Finish?

You’re a natural health and wellness expert—a yoga teacher, herbalist, therapist, nutritionist, or integrative, alternative, or functional medicine health practitioner.
You want to share your knowledge, establish yourself as a thought leader,
and grow your brand.
But without the right guidance, direction, or plan, it’s easy to get stuck or rewrite your outline, book proposal or manuscript in circles.
You may have tried workshops, conferences, critique groups—but you’re still struggling.
This can waste time, money, and energy and turn your enthusiasm into stress, confusion, and overwhelm. This may be why 97 percent of writers never finish their books.

We're a Good Match If You Are: A self-help or natural health and wellness expert and have a burning desire to share what you know to help readers transform their lives. Willing to adopt what's known as “beginner’s mind,” which means you're open to the process of book coaching as it unfolds and evolves. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't have an opinion, you should! but it's also helpful to understand what you don't know to learn what you need to know. Ready to work to solve the problems with your book, whether it's defining your idea, your method or plan, your structure, your book proposal, your pitch or your manuscript. Open to feedback, suggestions, and advice and be willing to make necessary changes to your book proposal and/or book that will improve your message as it evolves. Our relationship needs to be one of mutual respect in order to move you towards your goal: the best book that you're capable of writing.
Is it a Good Idea to Write a Book? Yes! Writing a nonfiction book is a smart move whether you're a yoga teacher, an herbalist, psychologist, doctor or any type of health and wellness expert. You can share what you know with a wider audience, establish yourself as a thought leader, make an impact and grow your brand. You Can Use Your Book: •To help readers transform their lives in a positive way. •To educate your clients or patients about your method, plan or program. Instead of giving each one handwritten instructions, you can give them a complete approach from A to Z. •To land interview requests about your subject matter whether it’s for print, radio, the internet, podcasts or TV. This further establishes you as an expert and builds your presence as a thought leader. •To supersize your content. You can use and repurpose book content for speeches, blog posts, articles, newsletters, in person and on-line courses. • To help you land speaking gigs. Defining who you are, what you do and what you believe in through your book makes it easier for people to find and book you. •To give in-person workshops in your hometown, at universities, associations, green companies, organizations. Bonus you can sell your book to participants too. •To book consulting gigs with people or organizations who want to know what you know and learn what you have to teach them. Maybe you can teach Buddhist stress reduction techniques or mindfulness meditation to accountants or lawyers or business people. •And of course, The Big Kahuna: To get booked for a Ted Talk and boost your visibility, way, way up!

Welcome! I'm Glad You're Here. I'm Always Happy to Meet Natural Health Self-Help Writers With a Positive Message to Share With the World.

Hi, I'm Chrystle Fiedler. I'm a Author Accelerator certified nonfiction book coach, editor and 12-time published author.
I've written (12) and edited (many more) nonfiction and fiction books for Big Five publishers including Penguin Random House and Simon & Schuster along with The Quarto Publishing Group USA and Quarto UK, Health Communications, Inc. and hybrid publishers. I have 17 years of experience in shaping health and wellness titles for publication.
Writing My First Book & Why I Can Help You Write Yours
I've always had a passion for natural health. It started when I went to a retreat at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health outside of Stockbridge, Massachusetts and continues to this day. First, I wrote about self-help and health and wellness as a journalist for publications including Woman's Day, USA Today and AARP.
This led to my first book, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Natural Remedies. I signed the contract but soon experienced stress and overwhelm because I had no roadmap. This was like heading into the jungle without GPS, a map or a compass! Maybe you've felt this way too.
Thankfully, I had solid writing skills honed through my magazine work, so eventually I figured it out and the book went to press. Valuable lessons learned. But if I'd had a book coach who provided editorial guidance, feedback and support, the process would have been SO much easier. I would have saved time and energy and actually enjoyed the process of writing my book.
12 books later, I'm now a book coach and editor who specializes in self-help and natural health and wellness, and help authors who share my passion the way I wish I'd been helped. I share what I've learned so that they (and you) can write your self-help nonfiction book about yoga, meditation, herbalism, alternative and functional medicine, integrative mental health, and mind-body-spirit with confidence.
Why Publishing Experience Matters in a Book Coach
My experience writing nonfiction (and fiction, check out my natural remedies mystery series for Galley/Pocket) makes me different from other book coaches, many of whom have not written a book. This means that I know all the ins and outs, short-cuts, and secrets that can make it faster and easier for you to make your dream of writing a book come true.
When you make the decision to hire a book coach you're transformed from someone who wants to write a book to someone who is actually doing it. Investing in yourself and your writing is a significant way to validate yourself and the vision you have for your writing and your life.
I'm passionate about animal welfare issues, dachshund rescue and adoption, nature, travel and books.
